9th Grade Pre-Modern World History
From the Neolithic Revolution, across ancient societies, to the dawn of modern life, we'll examine how cultures, faiths and political systems have approached the question of what is a just society. We'll frequently work as historians--analyze evidence, generate a theory--and formulate judgment about power, hierarchy and freedom, using art, philosophy, propaganda, natural resources, economic development, and more as our evidence. In the process we will use the study of the past to clarify our values and imagine the future. Welcome to BigHistory!
